Who inspires you

Who inspires me,
For me first and foremost is my wife & son.
My wife has to be one off the toughest & most hard headed people I know. Both my wife & myself are obese, year before last she competed in a sprint triathlon weighing over 300lb. & finished, since then she has been hooked & probably competed in 15-20 more since then. She is now training for the New Orleans half Iron Man for those who are no familiar that is swimming 1 mile/bike for 56 miles/run 13.1 miles in under 8hr. I will be there with sign in hand with a shirt that says team tater the crew of heavy breathers cheering her on, The race is in April 09

Then my son who is now 14 when he was 12 he was obese he came home from school & told us he wanted to play for the school football team he had never played football before. He tried out & made the team he has played for 2 years now. In November of 07 he wanted to try Mixed Martial Arts or MMA so I let him. if you could only see the workouts these guys do its unreal. In January 08 a K1 fighter now UFC fighter came in & did a seminar. After the class he asked who wanted to spare with him my 13yr. old son gets in the ring & spares with him for 2 rounds now this is a 235 pound fighter. My son is still doing MMA & when I get below 250 I will start going to jiu jitsu with him. He is a tough kid with a big heart & still has a A/B average in school.

Who else inspires me?
My family I come from a very close family, my friends, the haters out there, the biggest loser all of them & all of you blogger's out there who are battling keep it up

Goals

All people set goal for themselves big & small. I do this all the time, some of my goals I complete but the ones I don't definitely out weigh the completed ones. I have learned though much disappointment to set goals I can complete & then set more The next step in the process. Like my weight I try not to put a time limit on it I set it 10lb. at a time if it takes 1 week or 2 months it just does "as we say at work it is what it is." When I make my 10 I celebrate & then go for 10 more. I thought about goals last night after a humbling experience. I set my goal for the week to walk 20 miles, bike 16 & burn 4000 cal. The 20 miles walking is no problem 4000 cal. I will do in 2 days Ive burnt 1552 cal. but the bike oh my god the bike. When I was younger I could ride all day no problem but now after 1 mile I thought the seat was going to go through well you know, I got off the bike with a higher pitch voice. Note to self buy a new seat, I will make that goal this week & I will put it pass me.

I have set 3 goals for myself for the year that I do believe are not to large this is my fitness goals I have life goals but thats for me alone.

1. Enter & finish a 10k

2. Enter & finish a duatholon

3. Finish a 5k in under 40 min.

I will not set a weight goal for the year I will keep taking that at 10 lb at a time.

Its time

Were do I start?
June of 2007 is basically when I had my wake up call my weight at a all time high 330lb. my marriage in trouble, depressed with myself and what I let myself become. I would get up in the morning go to work come home & sit on the couch watching TV, letting my life & my marriage go buy the way side. I truly Love my wife & son it took my wife letting me know I would be alone if I didn't wake up, she was right. I came home & started to get my life & marriage together. My wife had started competing in triathlons & doing 5k runs so I started doing 5k runs with her. My first race was in august 2007 I just about couldn't finish I was waiting on the buzzards to start circling me but I did finish in 58min. If I would have stayed on the same road I was travelling before now I would not be married & probably 400+ pounds buy now. The last 5k I did I finished in 43 min I know that's slow as hell but I'm at leased making moves to get better & that dam Buzzard is still circling but I will beat him. I'm in a better place now its still a up & down battle but I'm here for the long haul. I got back in a funk after the hurricanes this year but since Christmas Ive been back on track, That's enough pissing & moaning for now.

My wife gave me a Polar heart rate monitor for Christmas & I love it. Its very motivational to see how many calories you burn during work outs & I find it helps me set goals for the next week.

12/29 thru 1/4
4 work outs total time 4:08
total calories burned 2830
total miles walked 6.3 + cardio work outs

1/5 thru 1/11
7 work outs total time 6:19
total calories burned 3678
total miles walked 18.7 + 1 cardio work out

1/12 thru 1/18
goal is 20 miles walked
4000 calories burned
bike for 16 miles
